THIS IS AN EMPOWERMENT SESSION. IF YOU BELIEVE IN EMPOWERMENT, THIS WILL BLESS YOU. ALL OTHERS…IT WILL BLESS YOU TOO! (smile)

When I was in Graduate School, I had to take this class. It was actually an easy class, but it was hard for me. At that time, I just didn’t get it. It required me to “think” a certain way and I just couldn’t do it. Just before midway in the semester when it was the last date that the class could be dropped…I sat there at the back of the class debating my future. I had to pass this class or one like it or I could not graduate. Then the teacher allowed us to have a break. In the hallway, I met a young lady who talked and talked on a cell phone. When she got off of the phone; we struck up a conversation. She explained to me that she was greatly distressed. “Me too.” I replied then I went on to tell her that I was dropping the class. In actuality, I had just then made up my mind. “Well, I’m failing too she exclaimed, but I think I’ll stay in and try to get a “D.” Now that confirmation for me that I really needed to drop it. I was shooting for a 4.0 and one professor had already ruined that for me. I forgave him a long time ago.
I wondered out loud what her problem could be if it wasn’t that class and she replied: “My cell phone bill is $700.00 a month!”
“What!” I exclaimed. I had never heard of anything so ridiculous. She went on to explain that her family used it like a land line phone and I can tell you that those were the days before people started reading their contracts. Yep, a few people got burned.
This was a few years back. I never saw her again after that night. I didn’t have the wisdom to pray with her or give her a faith pep talk…I wish I could.

Now, I think back to Abram in the bible. Abraham had a problem. He wanted to have children, but he was too old. He was 100 years old and his wife Sarai was 90 and God told him they would have a child. It had to be distressing. Can you imagine going 100 years without having children? Most people couldn’t do that. I never read that people who were 100 years of age in Biblical Days are actually 50 years old by our standards; so 100 years old was 100 years old. That’s old. However, Abram who God renamed Abraham believed God. If he told anyone he probably would have been laughed out of town or whatever they did to people they thought were crazy.
Here’s what the bible says:
Romans 4:19-20 (King James Version)
19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:
20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Abraham believed what God said. Abraham didn’t struggle with unbelief. His faith was unshaken. He gave glory to GOd
NOW WHAT’S YOUR PROBLEM?
Whatever your problem is and I’m not minimizing it. It may be a mountain to us but to God it’s a molehill.
To strengthen your faith…you need to know some of the promises of God. Let me give you ten.
**********************************************************************************************
TEN PROMISES OF GOD
1. Fear not, Abram (Put your name in here) I am your shield and your exceeding great reward. Genesis 15: 1
2. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54: 17
3. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. Phillipians 4: 19
4. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me 2 Corinthians 12: 9
5. 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8: 28
6. Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. Daniel 6: 16
7. YOU MIGHT WANT TO PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR CABINETS AND DOORS:
13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10: 13
8. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15: 57
9. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2: 38
10. God Promises You Healing
Read 1 Peter 2:24, Exodus 23:25, Jeremiah 30:17, John 10:10, Psalms 107:20, Proverbs 4:20-22, Matthew 9:20-22, Mark 16:17-18, Revelation 21:4
*** The Bible is full of God’s promises.
When I pray I say: Lord, You said You are my rear guard. I believe that. You said that Your favor would encompass me as a shield. I believe that. You said I’d be Blessed going in and Blessed coming out, Blessed in the city, Blessed in the field. I believe that. You said though my enemies may come against me one way, that those same enemies would flee before me seven ways. I believe that. You said I am the righteous and that You would never suffer the righteous to be moved, deliver me from my afflictions, flourish like a palm tree, that I would receive the Blessing from you, that your countenance beholds me, that the wicked would not spoil my resting place or lay wait against my dwelling, that You would quicken me to righteousness, that I would have peace and quietness and assurance forever. I BELIEVE THAT!
So like Abraham, we will not stagger or waiver back and forth between what we see and what God says. Don’t you do it, I don’t care what it is. If you messed up: repent because our God is a forgiving God and He will wipe the slate clean for you and turn things around. Your job is to trust Him. A very simple matter. Can you do it? I hope so.
