It All Boils Down To Confidence! by Elaine Davenport (Thursday, April 5, 2008)
It’s good to be self confident; it’s a reality that it’s better to have it than not. However….there are times when “we” can’t solve our own problems or challenges with just ordinary strength. That’s why I’m glad that God has given the believer power to speak to a problem and to tell it to move! You can’t do that without confidence. Confidence in what God said in His Word.
THE INSTRUCTIONS OF JESUS REGARDING A PROBLEM ARE HERE:
(Check out this “whole passage)
Mark 11:22-26 (King James Version)
22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
JESUS STARTS BY SAYING: FOR THIS YOUR FAITH WILL HAVE TO BE IN GOD.
(not in man; don’t go by what Brother I Know The Bible Better Than You says or Sister I CAN QUOTE SCRIPTURE GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU FEEL GUILTY thinks or says. Read The Bible for yourself.
23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
JESUS IS TELLING YOU THAT THERE IS POWER IN YOUR WORDS AND YOU CAN MAKE THINGS GO AWAY…IT IS THE POWER OF GOD GIVEN TO YOU AND WHEN YOU SPEAK; IT’S IN FAITH. (your problem may be considered to be a mountain.)
24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
FAITH IS BELIEVING WHEN YOU ASK FOR IT.
25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
FORGIVE, FORGIVE, FORGIVE AND WHILE YOU’RE AT IT SEARCH YOUR HEART.
26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
In order to be successful in whatever you are doing…you’re going to have to have confidence! There’s no reason for you to lack it because God can do it all…He’s the Creator. He can guide you, go before you, go with you, go ahead of you, take care of the matter, He can heal you, Bless you…nothing is impossible with God..and don’t forget: He Loves you.
QUOTES, DEFINITION & SCRIPTURES ON CONFIDENCE…
You gain strength, experience and confidence by every experience where you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you cannot do.
Webster’s 1828 Dictionary gives us a Clear and scripturally defined understanding of the word confidence:
A trusting, or reliance; an assurance of mind or firm belief in the integrity, stability or veracity of another, or in the truth and reality of a fact.
It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118.
I rejoice that I have confidence in you in all things. 2 Corinthians 7.
Mutual confidence is the basis of social happiness.
I place confidence in a statement, or in an official report.
2. Trust; reliance; applied to one’s own abilities, or fortune; belief in one’s own competency.
His times being rather prosperous than calm, had raised his confidence by success.
“The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.” Isaiah 32:17-18
Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.
–Marie Curie Polish-French chemist
“Then He (Jesus) rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Quiet down! And the wind fell, and there was a great calm! And He asked them, ‘Why were you so fearful? Don’t you even yet have confidence in Me?’ And they were filled with awe and said among themselves, ‘Who is this man, that even the winds and seas obey Him?’” Mark 4:39-41,
For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
