I used to follow all of the baseball games of our hometown teams. I loved baseball and everyday I walked two miles round trip to the library to check out books about baseball. Our team always lost. When they finally won; I’d yell and scream: “We Won! We Won!” I made sure that everyone knew…but most of the time I was sad…we never won. It was a great team personality wise and they had great skills; but they couldn’t beat the other teams.

Fast forward to my spiritual walk with God. I decided to have a personal relationship with God from the very beginning. I had always spoke to God all of my life but I didn’t know that He would talk back! I was so surprised when I found that out.

When I followed baseball as described above and my team would win I was happy. I came to realize that happiness is temporary; it’s just til you get what you want.

The Lord allowed me to serve Him and that has brought me joy…it’s like a quiet happiness couple with peace. It’s like a victory that’s continual…so I do celebrate for certain occasions but I’ve learned to do it before the manifestation of anything I’m believing God for.

I don’t celebrate on the outside, like I used to do for baseball games…by the time my victories come and they keep coming…I’m all pooped out from celebrating and confessing the Word of God beforehand.

God is doing a new thing in 2008; but you gotta get close to hear Him.

Ruth, a Moabites went to a strange land,

Blessing Naomi and following God’s hand,

There she committed to work in the field,

Unaware and not knowing what it would yield,

But eyes were upon her, for she was quite fair,

And leaving her humility she never would dare

All day long, she endured and she toiled,

While Boaz had noted that she was never spoiled,

For she served with her spirit, her soul and heart,

She was obedient to Naomi, who was very smart,

Naomi told her to go see Boaz on the threshing floor,

Unknowing she went and God opened a door

He ate his food and went to lie down; only to meet

A beautiful Ruth the Moabites to lie at his feet,

She was a woman of honor and great dignity,

And his heart which was soft for her was in jubilee,

He wondered outloud to her how much he cared;

He would make intercession so that she would be spared,

From marrying the next kinsman in line for the land,

He’d have to find a way to keep him from taking her hand,

He explained to Ruth how she must sneak out without a squimish,

For her reputation must be protected and be without blemish,

Boaz was truly a man of God, his only course was to pray

For he knew that the God of Israel would make a sure way

He gathered the elders and all the wise men at the city gate,

It would all be done properly but they had to wait,

Boaz envisioned his Ruth from the previous night,

Sure enough the kinsman arrived and released his rights,

He took off his sandal and established the transfer of property without a fight.

So the matter was settled and the marriage took place,

To some it’s unlikely for it was a tough case,

But with God all is possible if you’re in the race,

Be Faithful, Be True, walk in His Peace,

Be like Ruth and you’ll get your release!

Sometimes all that we need is just a nudge…a reminder. The bible is a training manual for our lives, a guidebook, a compass, a book of Love…and to think that for years; I never touched it. Whay joy I have to see people in church comb through the pages of the bible getting fresh revelation with the same excitement as people get when they eat watermelon!

God is greatly excited when we take the time to read and meditate in HIs Word when we’re not in church. When no one is looking and when it seems that no one cares. It’s His way of talking, speaking to us! It’s our way of refreshing ourselves. It’s impossible to open the Bible in faith…in faith…and not get something out of it!

JUST READ THE WORDS BELOW AND SEE IF YOU DON’T FEEL BETTER, IT WILL LIFT YOU TO A HIGHER PLACE!

2 Peter 1:19And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

Isaiah 55: 6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.

Many have argued over the issue of the abundant life. Just what is it? It’s a life without lack. No lack in health. No lack in time. No lack in food. No lack in any form of provision that you need. No lack IN YOUR ABILITY TO REACH OUT AND GIVE AND CARE ABOUT AND FOR OTHERS. No lack in your living arrangements, your job, your marriage, your finances, your relationships and no lack in your efforts to serve God!

NO LACK!
