Robbing God! by Elaine Davenport January, 2010

January 13, 2010

One day I decided to write about tithing on one of the sites.  Oh my goodness!   People not only wrote, but they had “pages” to say about it. What’s worse than that? Only one person wrote in to say that they agreed.    Please pray for revelation of this issue in the body of Christ.

Thou shalt not steal.

What a powerful group of words. Yet, I hear so many versions of excuses from people about tithing. Let me just say I originally had a hard time with it myself. In fact, when I first tried tithing the devil attacked my finances so bad that I quit for a whole year. During that time by the mercy of God, I saved money for my emergency back up. Then I began again successfully and never looked back. If at first you don’t succeed; try try again.

[A Public Domain Bible] [KJV at Zondervan] [Zondervan]

8Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

9Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
