This is a basic faith message; but it will solve your problems; that is if you believe that God is a big God.
A BIG LOAD
A lady gets off of a plane and heads to the baggage area. She has a ton of luggage. She has somewhere to go and her time is short. She has to make a decision and it must be fast. She has to try to carry it all by herself or she can get help. If she carries it all herself; it will be a day that she won’t forget and at some point she may encounter mounting obstacles that can contribute to her being stalled or even worse failure.
That’s just a story to help you envision a physical big load; but most of us have encountered loads or pressures that weighed a lot more than the physical load illustrated above. This story only talks about a one day dilemma; but most fixes can’t be solved in a day.
Now if you don’t believe God is a Big God; I feel sorry for you because He is, but if you don’t believe it…and that He is able to take that load you are carrying…you can carry it yourself. It’s that simple.
If you’ve ever watched a fight like I have; one of the most unforgettable memories you may recall is when someone gets a staggering blow that almost knocks them off their feet. All of a sudden, the potential underdog must fight for his life…or lose. The fighter must go on the defensive…and muster up the inner strength to fight back (despite injuries) and win. He must be determined. All of his months and years of training and experience must instinctively come into play. He has to ignore the physical signs and the visible signs of the warfare that he now finds himself in and squash feelings of fear or rage; he must be in total control of himself.
YOUR WAY OUT…
So, whether you’re carrying a big heavy load of: guilt, debt, emotional woes, problems that don’t seem to be going away, distress over a job that has worn itself thin, challenges from wanting a better situation in life…whatever it is…give it to God and let it go!
Prepare yourself for a fight once you decide to stand in faith. Get your scriptures out; that’s your training! And while you’re at it, read Ephesians 6: 10-18 (here)
If God desires a personal relationship with each of us; then the greatest advice that any of us can give ourselves is to: “Get before God.” He has the answer and there is strength in His Word. If you don’t believe me…just try it:
Ps. 9:9 — The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Ps. 138: 3 — In the day when I cried, thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
I Peter 5:7 — Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Psa 138:7 — Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
Psa 18:2 — The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Ps. 145:8 — The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
Ps. 32:7 — Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Psa 30:5 — For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Ps. 55:22 — Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
2 Kings 17:39 — But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
Mat 19:26 — But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Mat 7:11 — If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Mat 21:22 — And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Phi 4:6 — Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Prov. 3:5-8 — Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Phil 4:13 — I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Ps. 138:8 — The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
When pressure comes…take comfort in the Word and please don’t forget to pray; but your real answer lies in your praise and worship!
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. (KJV)
PRAISE AND WORSHIP ARE… THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS! YEAH!
