God is not an impossible, improbable God. He’s not an any-meany-miny-moe God. He is the God of the Breakthrough and the breakout if necessary! You better tell somebody!!!
Imagine if you lived in a country where the leader of the country was on a killing spree and was killing Christian leaders? That’s exactly what was happening in Acts 12. King Herod was on a killing spree. He killed James and then set his sights on Peter. Peter was thrown in church…BUT the church was earnestly praying for him. They weren’t talking about it and they were not cavalier about it. The amplified bible says the prayer was fervent and persistent.
1It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. 2He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. 3When he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. 4After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.
5So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
God answered swiftly. He sent the angel of the Lord to free Peter from jail. The angel showed up while Peter was sleep. He hit Peter on his side and woke him up. Peters chains fell off his hands. The angel told Peter to put on his shoes and his clothes. Peter thought it was all just a dream.
6And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision
Okay, okay, I’m excited! This is like a suspense movie…only with a good ending.
Peter finally realized it wasn’t a dream.
11And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the LORD hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
God had broke him out of jail!!! HALLELUJAH!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!
Now, I really don’t know what’s going on with you or what you need but God knows. Get before HIm.
Now, maybe you are supposed to be praying for someone. You’d better get busy…and be about God’s business. He’s counting on you. Yeah.
