28He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Proverbs 25
The Message bible says:
28 A person without self-control
is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out.
Lack of self control in a man or woman is not Godly. Don’t fool yourself. You’re not fooling anyone else.
I was tested today. Today, was my turn to be fair and to be honest. I’m supposed to have all of these values, and today was my day to really see if they meant anything. Perhaps, it was a little thing to some, but to God (yes) it is a big thing. It was my opportunity to talk about what I believe to be right.
Being black, red, brown or white does not make a person right or wrong. Being violent and Godly does not go together, no matter how you explain it.
There is a video that’s floating around the Internet. It shows a Special needs young white guy who is on a cell phone. Apparently, a small black child gets his attention though I’m not sure how and the guy goes over and kicks him what looked like his foot. The parent of the small child immediately comes into view and he knocks out the white guy.
On the Internet it appears to have gone everywhere and “supposedly” one of the message boards has agreed with the child’s father saying he did the right thing. He didn’t do the right thing.
You know, I don’t care what dynamics are used; whether the dad is white, Chinese, Hispanic, Indian or whatever, the parent was wrong.
But, here’s my point…Babylonian thinking dictates a different mentality. One often hears the expression: “You do you.!”
But, the kingdom of God people aren’t ruled by that type of thinking. The bible tells us: to control ourselves and love our brother.
It doesn’t say: “Love your brother except when he hits your child…or except when he makes you mad…it simply says love your brother. I’ve read nowhere where God encourages a rash rush to judgment or attacking others.
God encourages Love
