(Warning: This is a very candid article)
THE HEART OF THE MATTER!!!
Did you know that words can mean different things to different people? Well, this is true. It can be so vastly different that the whole concept will make people draw “faith” lines in the sand and cause them to come out saying:
“I’m a Muslim.”
“I’m a Christian.”
I was talking to some people today and they concluded that the real flaw in the Muslim faith is that they lack the understanding of love the way many (I didn’t say all) Christians do.
I didn’t say it was a flaw, they did.
This same group conceded that the draw or appeal to the Muslim faith comes from many people who feel that the Christian faith lacks enough discipline for them. They also said that these would be people who need somebody to tell them how many times to pray, what to do, who to talk to, what to do, etc. They are suggesting a personality type that is seeking a regimented life.
There seems to be a difference in how the two groups “perceive” the concept of love.
Christian “Love” is a word that is interweaved with the concept of humility. You cannot be humble and fight. It is impossible to love and be in strife according to God’s bible definition. (War, of course is the exception) Protecting your reputation is not. A lot of people want to overlook this and they are entitled to do this; but the God of the Holy Bible will not overlook what you do unless you repent and stop. Continue and deal with the consequences! There is no way around it and Christians regard no other book as God speaking. In fact, our acronym for the Bible is: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. We are that serious. Yes, I am a bible thumper and I’m proud. I make no secret of this. I’m radical and of course, I know people who are more radical than I. A level that I aspire to.
The love from the Bible is agape. It means unconditional love! That means no matter what you do I love you. It is also the kind of love that (Jehovah) God wants us to have for other people. It’s not the love where you “fall in love.” It’s not the same one. So, if your argument is that “we are human just like you and we love like you.” The answer is that is not what I am talking about.
If I’m being honest, all Christians have not perfected “agape” love. Why? Well, some may not know the bible that well and some may not choose to follow (Jehovah) God’s law in every way. But, the power to do this is available.
LOVE IN THE BIBLE IS THE FOUNDATION OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH. IT IS NOT “WORLDLY” LOVE…IT IS HOLY LOVE WHICH ALWAYS MUST BE SHOWN.
It is true that (Jehovah) God wants us to be obedient and that it is an act of love. But, it is not a sign of obedience to act unloving in any way; not ever. It’s not acceptable. There is no exception. You can’t harm your brother and explain it away. Now…you may know a Christian or several that have done this. THEY WERE IN DISOBEDIENCE. The bible says that Love is the foundation’; that all of the law hangs on it.
IT IS THAT CRITICAL AND IT CANNOT BE IGNORED OR EXPLAINED AWAY. If you meet anyone who tells you otherwise…they attempt to deceive you. Jesus called satan “the author of lies. Any statement that attempts to tell you that being unloving is permissible…is a lie.
For a bible definition of Love, read here and answer sincerely: Is this how you are?
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end. (message Bible)
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Gal. 6:7-8).
