I was on fire for God! ( I still am…) I was professing the Word, in the trenches…just on fire and BOOM…my faith was tested! I went numb. I wasn’t afraid, I wasn’t angry…I was just numb!
I wanted to scream and shout in faith, I wanted to dig deeper…but I was just numb and quiet. I felt arrested. That was my emotional side. God is so merciful that He delivered me even though my behavior wasn’t faith action at its greatest.
With each new trial I got better and better. I do a great combo thing now when my faith is tested! I get quiet, but I get out the bible and I get to praying!
…I get to talking in faith and I get my answers a whole lot sooner. Truly…
Jairus, was a ruler in the synagogue. His little twelve year old daughter became sick near death. As he pondered what he might do to help he must have heard that Jesus was in town and healing all of those who could no t be helped. He must of heard of the miracles. So, bound and determined knowing Jesus was his answer…he took off to find him and bring Jesus to his daughter’s death bed.
You must know that long before he ever saw Jesus, he made up his mind that Jesus could do the impossible. He cut of all of his emotions and he set his mind on the solution. He had a choice…he could believe or fall apart. When he found Jesus, he also found favor with Jesus and Jesus immediately went with him to help. But, on their way to help his daughter; Jesus was approached by a woman who got healed simply by touching his robe. Jairus saw all of this.
This took some time and soon someone came and told Jairus that his daughter was dead. He didn’t cry or whine…but he must have looked at JEsus. Before, he could do or say anything…Jesus said to him…only believe!
It was as if he was saying: THIS IS YOUR ONLY CHOICE! Jairus, chose to believe and not fall apart and Jesus brought his daughter back to life.
I say to you today….that whatever it is….your only choice is to believe…believe first before anything happens…before God does His miracle and turns things around for you. You know, it is amazing that when God turns things around He does it in such a clean simple way that it just seems natural…but it is still God doing it all along. Thank You Father! Thank You!
Jairus was a ruler in the synagogue; so he respected authority and he believed in God.
Here’s what happened:
Mark 5:21-43 (English Standard Version)
Jesus Heals a Woman and Jairus’s Daughter
21And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered about him, and he was beside the sea. 22(A) Then came one of(B) the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet 23and implored him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and(C) lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.” 24And he went with him.
And a great crowd followed him and(D) thronged about him. 25And there was a woman(E) who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, 26and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. 27She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. 28For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.” 29(F) And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her(G) disease. 30And Jesus, perceiving in himself that(H) power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, “Who touched my garments?” 31And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?'” 32And he looked around to see who had done it. 33But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. 34And he said to her, “Daughter,(I) your faith has made you well;(J) go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”
35While he was still speaking, there came from(K) the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why(L) trouble(M) the Teacher any further?” 36But overhearing[a] what they said, Jesus said to(N) the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” 37And he allowed no one to follow him except(O) Peter and James and(P) John the brother of James. 38They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus[b] saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. 39And when he had entered, he said to them, (Q) “Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but(R) sleeping.” 40And they laughed at him. But he(S) put them all outside and took the child’s father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was. 41(T) Taking her by the hand he said to her, “Talitha cumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you,(U) arise.” 42And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement. 43And(V) he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.
There is none like You Lord! None in all the earth!
