A Mother’s Day Thank You by Elaine Davenport Sunday, May 11, 2008

Happy Mother’s Day Friend!

Thank you for stopping by. Below, I share a letter that I send out to my friends every Mother’s Day. I invite you to share it with your friends that are special to you. Blessings & Love

P.S. I just want to say: “I have the best friends!” Between my incredible, wonderful. sweet Blogging friends, my incredible Email Network, my crew: The Gathering, the Prayer Warriors, my Prayer Posse, my Family and my Neighbors…whoo…I’m Blessed! I know that you are too. Take some time today to value and appreciate your friends…start by letting them know that you care.

What is a friend? A person like you!

God knows I’ve been needy but He sent His Holy Spirit to me and He sent you as an angel during that time to help. Perhaps you didn’t even know THAT YOU WERE HELPING ME; because I am famous for never telling. SMILE. You were there for me and my family and I thank you. You brought well wishes, gifts, love, peace, warm words of encouragement, food, into my home and it was well received! Guess what? God has sent me “special friends; just a handful and you are one of them and I thank God for you!

You have called and given me hope and promise and built up my resilience. You sent prayers of confirmation, expressions of joy and peace, rainbow colored flowers filled with cheer, you spoke words of wisdom and comfort to me and your soul rang out with the spirit of the Almighty whether you knew it or not…I do. I have walked through the fiery trials and there is joy on the other side! I am humbled by your extension of heartfelt love and I thank you.

See, it’s Mother’s Day and I’m not your child yet you took the time to “mother” me; perhaps it was with a kind word or a smile that came through a word, encouragement or maybe it was a scripture or a reminder of who “we” are in Christ; I don’t remember exactly, I just know I didn’t forget.

I want to tell you: “I appreciate you so MUCH! ….HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!”

1Corinthians 13:1-8, 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not

love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all

mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but

have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and

surrender my body to the flames, but have not love I gain

nothing Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not

boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not

easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not

delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,

always trusts, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where

there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues,

they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass

away…And now these things remain: faith, hope and love. But

the greatest of these is love.
