Holy Ghost Party! October 30, 2012

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come , they were all with one accord in one place.   And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting .  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.   And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance .  And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.  ACTS 2:  1-5

Why don’t you plan a party for just you and the Holy Spirit?   Better yet, invite some friends.  Be certain to invite The Holy Spirit!  It will be Blessed!   Spend some time with Him today.

Good and bad

Heads and Tails

Up and Down

Before and After

First and Last

Spiritual and Carnal…

ALL EXPRESSIONS OF DUALITY

spirit-or-flesh06

Within each person is the ability to be ruled from two different directions. The draw yo either side is very strong. The outcome is very much within our control. Because of that; God holds us responsible.

Everybody is two-faced; but I don’t mean that in a bad way. All humans have two sides. Each person gets to choose which nature is important to them. We all have a carnal (or fleshly nature). We all have a spiritual side. Ever wonder why most people are greatly touched by an inspirational song or message? That’s because it promotes the spiritual side to alertness.

We are all speaking spirits; but since most people aren’t aware of this they suppress it. A lot of times, in church I see people running down front to join or I see them crying. That’s the spiritual side bursting through. Sometimes, when people pray they are greatly moved emotionally…yes, the spiritual side is moved.

Have you ever seen someone lose their temper and blow their cork? Yes, well that’s not the spiritual side. That’s the flesh.

The bible gives us a wonderful list of the “fruit” of the spirit. Of course, the carnal side is the opposite.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Galatians 5:22)

” We ask God to direct our lives. He generates the fruit. And people around us harvest the benefits.

God wants to be our leverage in living, empowering us to feel better about ourselves, more excited about our future, more grateful for those we love and more enthusiastic about our faith.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, God has given you His Holy Spirit to help you live life according to His perfect plan. Why not pray this simple prayer and by faith invite Him to fill you with His Spirit.” Jennifer Apegg

The Real Deal On The Holy Spirit! by Elaine Davenport Sunday, August 31, 2008

I hope that you’ll just let me be real for a few minutes. I was not raised to know much about the Holy Spirit or as some say: “The Holy Ghost.” Though certainly, I was comfortable with the idea of the Holy Trinity.

Jesus loves us so much!

As a teenager; I attended church with my grandmother. I was under the impression that The Holy Ghost only came on very emotional people. It seemed like he only came in church services and only to a very few. After a while, the people came back to normal. That was my take on it. I never wanted The Holy Ghost under those circumstances. The people passed out, lost their hats and wigs, messed up their hair and worse off everybody in the whole church knew it. That was at the Baptist Church that we attended. Other than that, I loved the service.

I was literally raised in two churches and in my mom’s Lutheran church they called him The Holy Spirit and the services were always quiet and without incident though I will say that there was just as much of an anointing in that church as my grandmother’s church. (just in a different way)

Now, some years later; I attend a non denominational church in which the bible is taught and faith is known and spoken. Faith speaks…I’ve come to know more about The Holy Spirit. While many may come to call him The Holy Ghost; I call him the Holy Spirit and I’ll explain why. It just comes natural to me. Jesus prayed to the Father and asked Him to send us The Holy Spirit and God granted his petition.

Listen to this:

John 14:16-17 (King James Version)

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Now Look At The Amplified Bible explanation:

John 14:16-17 (Amplified Bible)

16And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever–

17The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

He’s:

Counselor,

Helper,

Intercessor,

Advocate,

Strengthener,

and Standby

He’s a real person and God sent Him to live on the inside of me to talk to me, guide me, lead me, to meet my needs and to bring my Words into action. I need the Holy Ghost; but it wasn’t until I began to really study the Word of God that I began to understand. I’d love to talk more about my journey with The Holy Spirit for indeed it has been so beautiful that I’d rather not ever be without Him …ever. I look forward to speaking on this subject a lot more.
